ASIA's PREMIER fitness championship league
2016 Season Announcement
SHINING A SPOTLIGHT ON OUR LOCAL TALENTS.
A new season is approaching but our vision remains the same: we want to support, strengthen, and celebrate the communities within and between affiliates in Asia. Anyone can compete for the Championships title. For the 2016 season, competitors can choose from the following categories: individual men, individual women, legacy (35+) men and legacy (35+) women. The competition is held over three stages.
Stage 1: Online Qualifier
Three workouts will be released on April 8, 2016. Upon which, athletes will be given up till April 12th to submit all three scores. Top athletes may be requested for video proof of their attempt, and all scores completed outside a registered facility must be accompanied by a valid video.
Registration for the qualifier will remain open until the very last day of score submission.
Top 32 individual athletes, and 16 masters' athletes from each Division will be invited to compete in one of four sanctioned tournaments.
Stage 2: Divisions
We're excited to welcome back the following sanctioning hosts for our Divisions:
- Downtown Throwdown, Coastal Fitness Performance Training
- Korea Throwdown,
- Manila Throwdown, CFMNL
- West Division, East West CrossFit
All tournaments will feature the same programming in the invited RX category.
Top 3 finishers from the Elite men and women categories, and winner of the Legacy men and women categories from each Division will receive invites to advance to the Grand Final.
Preliminary Divisions are new hosts in 2016, looking to gain experience in hosting. We're happy to welcome our new prelim hosts, CrossFit Berloga in Siberia, Russia. They will be hosting the Siberian Health Cup Challenge, which serves as qualifying grounds for the Grand Final via wild card advancements. Podium finishes do not guarantee advancement in the preliminary divisions.
Asia Championships is also proud to be hosting our first showcase event in Beijing China, co-hosting with CrossFit Slash. The Middle Kingdom Melee sets its sights on being a platform for exposure for beginners and showcase for the elite, in hopes of building awareness for the sport.
Stage 3: The Finals
128 athletes will arrive at the Finals location. Only 4 will leave with the championship title.
